INDIAN PREMIER LEAGUE-------->the brand to be.as rightly tagged n stated it surely is the brand to be...It showcased the indian power among the nations and what india was totally capable of.....Hats off to the brains that worked behind it...LALIT MODI..the man he is..It was this single individual, though he finally faltered on his monetary loop holes, brought this true and it was dis man whose brain was behind this whole extravaganza that dazed the world wid CRICKETAINMENT....
I guess IPL is now the second best sporting event in the world next to the NBA in the united states....(not sure)..but then m sure there aint any sporting event with such grace and hype and that which always stands up to the expectation oF the viewers..The success behind the IPL is that it knew ''''WHAT THE PEOPLE WANTED''''....in the country of india where cricket is a religion ,one jus had to link this passion to BOLLYWOOD,CELEBRITY OWNERS ,STARDOME ATTRACTIONS,MEDIA HYPE,PERFECT PUBLICITY AND OF COURSE THE TEAMS OF THE 8 MAIN CITIES... and the job was done so easily to witness crores and croes of money pouring in ....who would not love to be at a place where der is cricket,entertaintment, cheer gals dancin, and what not???
The power that BCCI and the IPL committee had was witnessed when the IPL had to be moved overseas in its second edition within a matter of 2 weeks due to security concerns in india and then DESTINATION SOUTH AFRICA it was...imagine how powerful the board should have been to shift such a huge huge event to the soil of another country...SERIOUSLY it got so many people mazed.....
Apart from the money factor the IPL set the stage open for all the talented youngsters and unrecongnized faces of the country bundled with talent to out show what they got and many of them used their oppurtunities so well that their final dream of wearin the BLUE INDIA JERSY came true....the hero of first IPL, YUSUF PATHAN has anchored his place in the indian team for past 2 yrears...MURALI VIJAY--->THE CRICKET STATEMENT of the CHENNAI SUPER KINGS arose to replace VIRU...RAVINDRA JADEJA was one among the lots.....well the list goes on....SUBRAMANIAN BADRINATH who has been sweatin his heart out for tamil nadu for past 5 years finallly showed what his willow could speak....and so did the selectors understand what it did....IPL not only witnessed successful MONETARY BENEFITS but also came up as an LIFE CHANGING PATH for many local cricketing heroes.....HATS OFF FOR THAT....
Ans well recently two more teams have been added and its hard to imagine the fact that the total cost of the two teams newly purchased is more than the cost of all other 8 teams put together...Could any sporting event get bigger????
Frankly the IPL is a true entertainer and its kinda boring watchin the other INTERNATIONAL MATCHES>..though the carribean beauties try hard to make up for the cheer leaders the KING FISHER BABES were what the world loved more..LOL!!!!
NEXT YEAR its gonna be 94 days of CRICKETAINTMENT.....IPL s gettin bigger and m sure the world will love dis more and more in the years to come......and the best part of this is that no matter who ever wins the IPL the trophy stays within INDIA:-):-):-).....no doubt india are truely todays cricketing power......
